JEREMY HOWELL

Im a Chef. Working in the kitchen is all i have ever done and know.

Chef Jeremy grew up in St. Catharines, Ontario for the first half of his life. He started out at 14 working in corporate chain kitchens to start getting paid to buy skateboards and clothes. In his teenage life he got caught up with hanging out with the wrong crowd and got involved with the law.

 

At 20 he decided to up and leave everything he knew and moved to Cape Breton. This was Jeremy's beginning of becoming the chef he is today. He started out as a dishwasher for a local pub in Sydney, Cape Breton where he met the chef that would teach him the way on being a chef. Working closely with his new mentor, Jeremy worked his way up to Executive Sous Chef after 5 years and then to go on to Executive Chef. His mentor enrolled him in a class that challenged the red seal certification. Jeremy passed and it was the highlight of his career, education wise.

 

Jeremy had moved on to Halifax, Nova Scotia where he learned the inside of a corporate company setting as Chef De Cuisine for 4 restaurants within the company. Chef Jeremy spent his 3.5 years learning how to be a true leader that his brigade could rely on.

 

Jeremy is now learning other cuisines to further his knowledge in middle eastern cuisine, Italian cuisine, along with a new project.

Jeremy has learned through his career on the difference between arrogance, ego and then learning how to be humble and teaching others how to be better. He has had this itch to make something more out of his knowledge in the food industry.

 

Chef Jeremy is working on starting his own chef clothing line that sells chef clothes for the chefs after work, the comfy clothes chefs want to get into after work. He is learning online courses and building his brand after his 50 hour week in the kitchen, plus other side jobs to make everything happen.
